English Conjunctions into Thematic Paragraphs

text

To make this comprehensive and easy to learn, I have organized all major English conjunctions into thematic paragraphs. Each word is used in context followed by its Hindi meaning in brackets.

1. The Power of Choice and Addition (Coordinating & Correlative)

When you want to build a sentence, you can use and (और) to add information, but (लेकिन) to show a contrast, or (या) to offer a choice. If you are feeling decisive, you might use either… or (या तो… या) to pick between two paths. However, if you are unsatisfied, you might choose neither… nor (न तो… न ही) to reject both options. Sometimes, a person is not only (न केवल) talented but also (बल्कि यह भी) hardworking. These words help us maintain both (दोनों) balance and (और) clarity in our speech. Even yet (फिर भी), we must be careful not to overcomplicate our thoughts so (इसलिए) that the listener understands us clearly.

2. Time, Sequence, and Persistence (Subordinating)

Timing is everything in communication. You should think before (से पहले) you speak, and reflect on the impact after (के बाद) the conversation ends. As soon as (जैसे ही) you start practicing, your skills will improve. You must keep trying until (जब तक) you succeed, while (जबकि) others might give up too soon. Whenever (जब कभी) you find a difficult word, look it up immediately. Once (एक बार जब) you master these, you will feel more confident. Do not wait until (जब तक) it is too late; start today since (चूंकि) time waits for no one.

3. Reason, Condition, and Purpose (Cause & Effect)

We use certain words because (क्योंकि) we need to explain our reasons. If (यदि) you study hard, you will pass the exam, unless (जब तक… नहीं) you lose focus. Many people work hard so that (ताकि) they can provide for their families. Provided that (बशर्ते कि) you follow the rules, you will stay out of trouble. Inasmuch as (जहां तक) knowledge is power, we must seek it daily. We act as if (मानो जैसे) we know everything, even though (हालांकि) we are all still learning. In case (यदि/अगर) you get lost, always carry a map or a guide.

4. Comparison, Contrast, and Conclusion (Advanced Connectors)

Life is full of variety; whereas (जबकि) some prefer the city, others love the countryside. Although (यद्यपि) the journey is long, the destination is worth the effort. You should choose a career based on passion rather than (के बजाय) just money. Though (हालांकि) it may seem difficult at first, it gets easier over time. Whether (चाहे) you win or (या) lose, the experience matters most. Nevertheless (फिर भी), we must strive for excellence. Consequently (फलस्वरूप), your hard work will eventually result in a vivid (जीवंत) and successful future.
