🔹 FOR (क्योंकि / कारण बताने के लिए)

Rule: For दो independent clauses को जोड़ता है और कारण बताता है।

  1. I stayed at home, for (क्योंकि) it was raining heavily.
    (मैं घर पर रुका क्योंकि तेज बारिश हो रही थी।)
  2. She worked hard, for (क्योंकि) she wanted success.
    (उसने मेहनत की क्योंकि वह सफलता चाहती थी।)
  3. He left early, for (क्योंकि) he felt sick.
  4. We saved money, for (क्योंकि) we planned a trip.
  5. They apologized, for (क्योंकि) they realized their mistake.
  6. I studied late, for (क्योंकि) exams were near.
  7. She remained silent, for (क्योंकि) she was upset.
  8. He trained daily, for (क्योंकि) he aimed to win.
  9. We avoided conflict, for (क्योंकि) peace was important.
  10. She practiced speaking, for (क्योंकि) fluency requires effort.

🔹 AND (और / जोड़ने के लिए)

Rule: And समान importance वाले words या clauses जोड़ता है।

  1. She reads books and (और) writes notes.
    (वह किताबें पढ़ती है और नोट्स लिखती है।)
  2. I woke up early and (और) went for a walk.
  3. He bought fruits and (और) vegetables.
  4. We planned and (और) executed the project.
  5. She sings and (और) dances beautifully.
  6. I cleaned the room and (और) arranged the table.
  7. They studied hard and (और) passed the exam.
  8. He works sincerely and (और) honestly.
  9. She listened carefully and (और) responded politely.
  10. We learned grammar and (और) improved communication.

🔹 NOR (और न ही / negative जोड़ने के लिए)

Rule: Nor दो negative ideas जोड़ता है और structure होता है: nor + auxiliary + subject।

  1. He does not smoke, nor (और न ही) does he drink.
    (वह न धूम्रपान करता है और न ही शराब पीता है।)
  2. She was not tired, nor (और न ही) was she lazy.
  3. I didn’t call him, nor (और न ही) did I message him.
  4. They were not ready, nor (और न ही) were they prepared.
  5. He cannot swim, nor (और न ही) can he dive.
  6. She didn’t cry, nor (और न ही) did she complain.
  7. We don’t waste time, nor (और न ही) do we delay work.
  8. He was not afraid, nor (और न ही) was he nervous.
  9. She doesn’t argue, nor (और न ही) does she blame others.
  10. I didn’t forget, nor (और न ही) did I ignore.

🔹 BUT (लेकिन / विरोध दिखाने के लिए)

Rule: But दो contrasting ideas को जोड़ता है।

  1. He is poor, but (लेकिन) he is honest.
  2. She tried hard, but (लेकिन) she failed.
  3. I wanted to go, but (लेकिन) it was late.
  4. The work was difficult, but (लेकिन) we completed it.
  5. She is strict, but (लेकिन) kind.
  6. He is young, but (लेकिन) mature.
  7. We were tired, but (लेकिन) happy.
  8. The task was risky, but (लेकिन) necessary.
  9. She felt nervous, but (लेकिन) confident.
  10. He lost the match, but (लेकिन) gained experience.

🔹 OR (या / विकल्प के लिए)

Rule: Or choice या alternative दर्शाता है।

  1. Study now, or (या) you will fail.
  2. Tea or (या) coffee?
  3. Hurry up, or (या) we’ll miss the bus.
  4. Call me or (या) text me.
  5. Save money or (या) regret later.
  6. Work hard or (या) stay average.
  7. Join us or (या) stay home.
  8. Speak clearly or (या) repeat again.
  9. Decide quickly or (या) lose opportunity.
  10. Improve now or (या) suffer later.

🔹 YET (फिर भी / विरोध)

Rule: Yet unexpected contrast दिखाता है।

  1. He is poor, yet (फिर भी) happy.
  2. She was tired, yet (फिर भी) she continued.
  3. The exam was tough, yet (फिर भी) we passed.
  4. He failed, yet (फिर भी) he smiled.
  5. It was risky, yet (फिर भी) we tried.
  6. She was afraid, yet (फिर भी) she spoke.
  7. The journey was long, yet (फिर भी) enjoyable.
  8. He is strict, yet (फिर भी) supportive.
  9. We were late, yet (फिर भी) hopeful.
  10. She felt weak, yet (फिर भी) determined.

🔹 SO (इसलिए / परिणाम)

Rule: So result या consequence बताता है।

  1. It was raining, so (इसलिए) we stayed home.
  2. She was tired, so (इसलिए) she slept early.
  3. I was hungry, so (इसलिए) I ate food.
  4. He studied well, so (इसलिए) he passed.
  5. They worked hard, so (इसलिए) they succeeded.
  6. The road was blocked, so (इसलिए) we changed route.
  7. She practiced daily, so (इसलिए) she improved.
  8. We were late, so (इसलिए) we ran.
  9. He apologized, so (इसलिए) she forgave him.
  10. I believed in myself, so (इसलिए) I achieved success.

2️⃣ Subordinating Conjunctions

ये dependent clause को main clause से जोड़ते हैं।


🔹 Time (समय)

AFTER (के बाद)

Rule: After किसी action के बाद होने वाली दूसरी action को बताता है।

  1. I rested after (के बाद) I finished my work.
  2. She felt relaxed after (के बाद) she completed the exam.
  3. We went home after (के बाद) the meeting ended.
  4. He slept after (के बाद) he studied late.
  5. They celebrated after (के बाद) they won the match.
  6. I called him after (के बाद) I reached home.
  7. She smiled after (के बाद) she heard the news.
  8. We relaxed after (के बाद) the project was submitted.
  9. He apologized after (के बाद) he realized his mistake.
  10. The rain stopped after (के बाद) the storm passed.

BEFORE (पहले)

Rule: Before किसी action से पहले होने वाली action दिखाता है।

  1. Think carefully before (पहले) you decide.
  2. Wash your hands before (पहले) you eat.
  3. I called her before (पहले) I left.
  4. He checked the report before (पहले) submitting it.
  5. She prayed before (पहले) starting the exam.
  6. We discussed the plan before (पहले) implementing it.
  7. Close the door before (पहले) you go out.
  8. I studied before (पहले) going to sleep.
  9. They saved money before (पहले) buying a car.
  10. He confirmed the details before (पहले) signing the document.

WHEN (जब)

Rule: When किसी specific समय पर होने वाली action बताता है।

  1. I was happy when (जब) I saw you.
  2. She smiled when (जब) she heard the news.
  3. Call me when (जब) you arrive.
  4. He stood up when (जब) the teacher entered.
  5. We clapped when (जब) he won.
  6. She cried when (जब) she felt hurt.
  7. I relax when (जब) I listen to music.
  8. They celebrated when (जब) results were declared.
  9. He laughed when (जब) he saw the joke.
  10. We started eating when (जब) everyone arrived.

WHILE (जबकि / के दौरान)

Rule: While दो actions जो एक साथ हो रही हों, उन्हें जोड़ता है।

  1. She was cooking while (जबकि) I was cleaning.
  2. He listened to music while (के दौरान) studying.
  3. I called her while (जबकि) she was driving.
  4. They talked while (जबकि) walking.
  5. The baby cried while (जबकि) sleeping.
  6. We discussed plans while (के दौरान) traveling.
  7. He learned English while (के दौरान) working.
  8. She smiled while (जबकि) reading the letter.
  9. I waited while (जबकि) he finished.
  10. The teacher explained while (जबकि) students listened.

🔹 Cause / Reason (कारण)

BECAUSE (क्योंकि)

Rule: Because reason बताने के लिए dependent clause शुरू करता है।

  1. I stayed home because (क्योंकि) it was raining.
  2. She cried because (क्योंकि) she was upset.
  3. He succeeded because (क्योंकि) he worked hard.
  4. We were late because (क्योंकि) traffic was heavy.
  5. I smiled because (क्योंकि) I was happy.
  6. She passed because (क्योंकि) she studied well.
  7. They failed because (क्योंकि) they ignored practice.
  8. He rested because (क्योंकि) he felt tired.
  9. I apologized because (क्योंकि) I was wrong.
  10. We celebrated because (क्योंकि) we won.

SINCE (क्योंकि / जब से)

Rule: Since reason या time दोनों बताता है।

  1. I trust him since (क्योंकि) he is honest.
  2. She has been here since (जब से) morning.
  3. We left early since (क्योंकि) it was urgent.
  4. He improved since (जब से) he started practice.
  5. I feel better since (जब से) I changed habits.
  6. They relaxed since (क्योंकि) work was finished.
  7. She stayed quiet since (क्योंकि) she was tired.
  8. We know each other since (जब से) childhood.
  9. He saved money since (क्योंकि) he planned wisely.
  10. I have learned English since (जब से) last year.

🔹 Condition (शर्त)

IF (यदि)

Rule: If condition बताता है; structure होता है: If + subject + verb, main clause.

  1. You will succeed if (यदि) you work hard.
  2. I will help you if (यदि) you ask.
  3. She will pass if (यदि) she studies.
  4. We will win if (यदि) we try.
  5. He will improve if (यदि) he practices.
  6. Call me if (यदि) you need help.
  7. I will come if (यदि) I am free.
  8. They will join if (यदि) invited.
  9. She will smile if (यदि) she is happy.
  10. We will leave if (यदि) it rains.

UNLESS (जब तक नहीं)

Rule: Unless negative condition बताता है।

  1. You cannot pass unless (जब तक नहीं) you study.
  2. I won’t go unless (जब तक नहीं) you come.
  3. She won’t succeed unless (जब तक नहीं) she works.
  4. We won’t win unless (जब तक नहीं) we try.
  5. He won’t improve unless (जब तक नहीं) he practices.
  6. Don’t leave unless (जब तक नहीं) I say.
  7. I won’t forgive unless (जब तक नहीं) he apologizes.
  8. She won’t smile unless (जब तक नहीं) she feels safe.
  9. We won’t invest unless (जब तक नहीं) it is secure.
  10. He won’t learn unless (जब तक नहीं) he listens.

 

🔹 Contrast (विरोध / तुलना)

ALTHOUGH (हालाँकि)

Rule: Although contrast दिखाने के लिए dependent clause शुरू करता है।

  1. Although (हालाँकि) he is poor, he is honest.
  2. Although (हालाँकि) she was tired, she continued working.
  3. Although (हालाँकि) it was raining, we went out.
  4. Although (हालाँकि) he failed, he did not give up.
  5. Although (हालाँकि) the exam was tough, she passed.
  6. Although (हालाँकि) I was busy, I helped him.
  7. Although (हालाँकि) they disagreed, they stayed calm.
  8. Although (हालाँकि) she felt nervous, she spoke confidently.
  9. Although (हालाँकि) we were late, we managed everything.
  10. Although (हालाँकि) the road was long, the journey was enjoyable.

THOUGH (हालाँकि)

Rule: Though भी contrast दिखाता है; informal usage में अक्सर sentence के अंत में आता है।

  1. Though (हालाँकि) he is young, he is wise.
  2. I liked the movie, though (हालाँकि) it was long.
  3. Though (हालाँकि) she tried hard, she failed.
  4. He smiled, though (हालाँकि) he was upset.
  5. Though (हालाँकि) it was cold, we swam.

  8. The plan worked, though (हालाँकि) it was risky.

🔹 Purpose (उद्देश्य)

SO THAT (ताकि)

Rule: So that purpose या intention बताता है।

  1. I study daily so that (ताकि) I can succeed.
  2. She saved money so that (ताकि) she could travel.
  3. He spoke clearly so that (ताकि) everyone understood.
  4. We left early so that (ताकि) we might arrive on time.
  5. She practiced so that (ताकि) she could improve.
  6. I called him so that (ताकि) he would know.
  7. They trained hard so that (ताकि) they could win.
  8. He exercised so that (ताकि) he might stay fit.
  9. We planned carefully so that (ताकि) nothing went wrong.
  10. She listened attentively so that (ताकि) she could learn.

IN ORDER THAT (ताकि)

Rule: In order that formal purpose दिखाता है।

  1. He left early in order that (ताकि) he might catch the train.
  2. She whispered in order that (ताकि) no one could hear.
  3. We worked overtime in order that (ताकि) the project would finish.
  4. I explained again in order that (ताकि) you might understand.
  5. They trained daily in order that (ताकि) they could succeed.
  6. She revised lessons in order that (ताकि) she might score well.
  7. We saved money in order that (ताकि) we could invest.
  8. He practiced English in order that (ताकि) he might speak fluently.
  9. I woke up early in order that (ताकि) I could study.
  10. She prepared notes in order that (ताकि) others might benefit.

🔹 Result (परिणाम)

SO…THAT (इतना…कि)

Rule: So + adjective/adverb + that result दिखाता है।

  1. He was so (इतना) tired that (कि) he slept immediately.
  2. She was so (इतनी) happy that (कि) she cried.
  3. It was so (इतना) cold that (कि) we stayed home.
  4. He spoke so (इतना) fast that (कि) no one understood.
  5. The box was so (इतना) heavy that (कि) I couldn’t lift it.
  6. She ran so (इतनी) quickly that (कि) she won.
  7. The food was so (इतना) spicy that (कि) I drank water.
  8. He was so (इतना) angry that (कि) he shouted.
  9. She felt so (इतनी) weak that (कि) she rested.
  10. The movie was so (इतनी) interesting that (कि) we watched twice.

SUCH…THAT (ऐसा…कि)

Rule: Such + noun + that result दिखाता है।

  1. It was such (ऐसी) a good book that (कि) I read it twice.
  2. She is such (ऐसी) a kind person that (कि) everyone likes her.
  3. He made such (ऐसी) a mistake that (कि) he apologized.
  4. It was such (ऐसा) hot weather that (कि) we stayed inside.
  5. They faced such (ऐसी) problems that (कि) they felt stressed.
  6. She gave such (ऐसा) advice that (कि) it changed my life.
  7. It was such (ऐसी) noise that (कि) I couldn’t sleep.
  8. He had such (ऐसा) confidence that (कि) he inspired others.
  9. It was such (ऐसा) an easy task that (कि) everyone finished quickly.
  10. She showed such (ऐसी) courage that (कि) people admired her.

🔹 Correlative Conjunctions (Pair में आते हैं)

BOTH…AND (दोनों…और)

Rule: Both…and दो समान चीजों को जोड़ता है।

  1. Both (दोनों) Ram and (और) Shyam are honest.
  2. She likes both (दोनों) tea and (और) coffee.
  3. Both (दोनों) honesty and (और) hard work matter.
  4. He speaks both (दोनों) Hindi and (और) English.
  5. Both (दोनों) parents and (और) teachers support her.
  6. She bought both (दोनों) fruits and (और) vegetables.
  7. Both (दोनों) courage and (और) patience are needed.
  8. He enjoys both (दोनों) reading and (और) writing.
  9. Both (दोनों) effort and (और) strategy bring success.
  10. She values both (दोनों) respect and (और) discipline.

EITHER…OR (या तो…या)

Rule: Either…or choice दर्शाता है।

  1. Either (या तो) call me or (या) text me.
  2. You can choose either (या तो) tea or (या) coffee.
  3. Either (या तो) study hard or (या) fail.
  4. We will go either (या तो) today or (या) tomorrow.
  5. Either (या तो) he will come or (या) I will go.
  6. Choose either (या तो) honesty or (या) regret.
  7. She wants either (या तो) money or (या) fame.
  8. Either (या तो) work sincerely or (या) leave.
  9. He can speak either (या तो) English or (या) French.
  10. Either (या तो) accept it or (या) reject it.

🔹 Conjunctive Adverbs

HOWEVER (हालाँकि / फिर भी)

Rule: However independent clauses को जोड़ता है; comma का प्रयोग होता है।

  1. He worked hard; however (हालाँकि), he failed.
  2. She was tired; however (फिर भी), she continued.
  3. It was risky; however (फिर भी), we tried.
  4. He disagreed; however (हालाँकि), he stayed calm.
  5. The exam was tough; however (फिर भी), she passed.
  6. I was busy; however (फिर भी), I helped him.
  7. They argued; however (हालाँकि), they remained friends.
  8. It was late; however (फिर भी), we waited.
  9. She felt weak; however (फिर भी), she finished the race.
  10. The plan was complex; however (हालाँकि), it succeeded.

4️⃣ Conjunctive Adverbs (Linking Words)

ये technically adverbs होते हैं, लेकिन independent clauses को जोड़ने का काम करते हैं।

THEREFORE (इसलिए)

  5. He apologized; therefore (इसलिए), she forgave him.
  6. I was tired; therefore (इसलिए), I slept early.
  7. They invested wisely; therefore (इसलिए), they gained profit.
  8. The exam was easy; therefore (इसलिए), most students passed.
  9. She practiced daily; therefore (इसलिए), she improved.
  10. He followed instructions; therefore (इसलिए), he avoided mistakes.

MOREOVER (इसके अलावा)

  1. She is intelligent; moreover (इसके अलावा), she is hardworking.
  2. The plan is simple; moreover (इसके अलावा), it is effective.
  3. He speaks fluently; moreover (इसके अलावा), he writes well.
  4. The job pays well; moreover (इसके अलावा), it offers growth.
  5. She is polite; moreover (इसके अलावा), she is humble.
  6. We saved money; moreover (इसके अलावा), we invested it wisely.
  7. He is disciplined; moreover (इसके अलावा), he is punctual.
  8. The book is informative; moreover (इसके अलावा), it is engaging.
  9. She completed the task; moreover (इसके अलावा), she helped others.
  10. The idea is creative; moreover (इसके अलावा), it is practical.

FURTHERMORE (इसके अतिरिक्त)

  1. He is honest; furthermore (इसके अतिरिक्त), he is reliable.
  2. The system is secure; furthermore (इसके अतिरिक्त), it is fast.
  3. She is talented; furthermore (इसके अतिरिक्त), she is dedicated.
  4. We need patience; furthermore (इसके अतिरिक्त), we need focus.
  5. The project is profitable; furthermore (इसके अतिरिक्त), it is sustainable.
  6. He apologized; furthermore (इसके अतिरिक्त), he corrected his mistake.
  7. She studied; furthermore (इसके अतिरिक्त), she practiced.

CONSEQUENTLY (परिणामस्वरूप)

  3. They delayed action; consequently (परिणामस्वरूप), they lost opportunity.

MEANWHILE (इस दौरान)

  4. I was studying; meanwhile (इस दौरान), my brother was sleeping.

INDEED (वास्तव में)
