🔹 Rules:

• Used for an action that was completed before another action or time in the past (the “past of the past”).
• Structure: Subject + had + past participle (V3) + object.
• Had is used with ALL subjects (I, you, he, she, it, we, they).
• Negative: Subject + had not (hadn’t) + past participle.
• Interrogative: Had + subject + past participle + object?
• Often used with: before, after, when, by the time, already, just, never, ever.
