Present Continuous Tense 

Structure/Formula:

Affirmative- Subject + Is/Am/Are + V1 + Ing + Object
Negative- Subject + Is/Am/Are + Not + V1 + Ing + Object
Interrogative- Is/Am/Are + Subject + V1 + Ing + Object + ?
Interrogative-Negative- Is/Am/Are + Subject + Not + V1 + Ing + Object + ?

Part 1: Affirmative Sentences 

(Subject + Is/Am/Are + V1 + Ing + Object)

1. I am eating an apple now.
   मैं अब सेब खा रहा हूँ।
2. You are reading the newspaper.
   तुम अखबार पढ़ रहे हो।
3. We are going to school together.
   हम साथ में स्कूल जा रहे हैं।
4. They are playing cricket in the evening.
   वे शाम को क्रिकेट खेल रहे हैं।
5. He is writing a letter to his father.
   वह अपने पिता को पत्र लिख रहा है।
6. She is singing very sweetly.
   वह बहुत मीठा गा रही है।
7. It is raining heavily.
   बहुत तेज बारिश हो रही है।
8. Ram is reading his book carefully.
   राम अपनी किताब ध्यान से पढ़ रहा है।
9. Sita is cooking food for the family.
   सीता परिवार के लिए खाना बना रही है।
10. The sun is rising in the east.
    सूरज पूर्व में उग रहा है।
11. The earth is moving round the sun.
    पृथ्वी सूर्य के चारों ओर घूम रही है।
12. I am liking cold coffee.
    मुझे कोल्ड कॉफी पसंद आ रही है।
13. You are looking very beautiful today.
    तुम आज बहुत सुंदर लग रहे हो।
14. We are trusting our friends.
    हम अपने दोस्तों पर भरोसा कर रहे हैं।
15. They are living in a big house.
    वे एक बड़े घर में रह रहे हैं।
16. He is driving very fast.
    वह बहुत तेज गाड़ी चला रहा है।
17. She is speaking English fluently.
    वह धाराप्रवाह अंग्रेजी बोल रही है।
18. The dog is barking at strangers.
    कुत्ता अजनबियों पर भौंक रहा है।
19. My mother is loving me very much.
    मेरी माँ मुझसे बहुत प्यार कर रही हैं।
20. The teacher is explaining the lesson.
    शिक्षक पाठ समझा रहे हैं।
21. Children are loving to play.
    बच्चों को खेलना बहुत पसंद आ रहा है।
22. Water is boiling at 100 degrees.
    पानी 100 डिग्री पर उबल रहा है।
23. I am needing your help.
    मुझे तुम्हारी मदद चाहिए हो रही है।
24. You are having a nice car.
    तुम्हारे पास एक अच्छी कार है। (State verb – less common in continuous)
25. We are wanting to go to Delhi.
    हम दिल्ली जाना चाह रहे हैं।

Part 2: Negative Sentences 

(Subject + Is/Am/Are + Not + V1 + Ing + Object)

1. I am not eating meat.
   मैं मांस नहीं खा रहा हूँ।
2. You are not reading newspapers.
   तुम अखबार नहीं पढ़ रहे हो।
3. We are not going to the temple daily.
   हम रोज़ मंदिर नहीं जा रहे हैं।
4. They are not playing video games.
   वे वीडियो गेम नहीं खेल रहे हैं।
5. He is not writing clearly.
   वह स्पष्ट नहीं लिख रहा है।
6. She is not singing classical songs.
   वह शास्त्रीय गीत नहीं गा रही है।
7. It is not raining in winter.
   सर्दियों में बारिश नहीं हो रही है।
8. Ram is not telling lies.
   राम झूठ नहीं बोल रहा है।
9. Sita is not liking spicy food.
   सीता को मसालेदार खाना पसंद नहीं आ रहा है।
10. The sun is not rising in the west.
    सूरज पश्चिम में नहीं उग रहा है।
11. I am not having a car.
    मेरे पास कार नहीं है। (State verb)
12. You are not understanding me.
    तुम मुझे नहीं समझ रहे हो।
13. We are not believing in ghosts.
    हम भूतों में विश्वास नहीं कर रहे हैं।
14. They are not working on Sundays.
    वे रविवार को काम नहीं कर रहे हैं।
15. He is not knowing the answer.
    वह उत्तर नहीं जान रहा है।
16. She is not wearing jeans.
    वह जींस नहीं पहन रही है।
17. The shop is not opening on Monday.
    दुकान सोमवार को नहीं खुल रही है।
18. My father is not smoking.
    मेरे पिता धूम्रपान नहीं कर रहे हैं।
19. This pen is not writing smoothly.
    यह कलम चिकना नहीं लिख रही है।
20. I am not liking tea.
    मुझे चाय पसंद नहीं आ रही है।
21. You are not looking happy.
    तुम खुश नहीं दिख रहे हो।
22. We are not having enough time.
    हमारे पास पर्याप्त समय नहीं है।
23. They are not speaking Hindi.
    वे हिंदी नहीं बोल रहे हैं।

    वह जल्दी नहीं उठ रहा है।

    वह खाना नहीं बना रही है।
