An absolute phrase is a grammatical construction consisting of a noun or pronoun followed by a participle (or participial phrase) and any modifiers. It modifies the entire main clause of a sentence, not a specific noun. It is set off by commas and is not directly attached to the main subject or verb.
एब्सोल्यूट पदबंध एक व्याकरणिक रचना है जिसमें एक संज्ञा या सर्वनाम के बाद एक कृदंत (participle) या कृदंत वाक्यांश तथा अन्य विशेषक आते हैं। यह पूरे मुख्य उपवाक्य (main clause) को संशोधित करता है, किसी एक विशेष संज्ञा को नहीं। इसे अल्पविरामों से अलग किया जाता है और यह मुख्य कर्ता या क्रिया से सीधे जुड़ा नहीं होता।
