• Used for actions that were in progress at a specific time in the past, two simultaneous past actions, or an interrupted past action.
• Structure: Subject + was / were + verb + ing + object.
• Was → with I, he, she, it, singular nouns
• Were → with you, we, they, plural nouns
• Negative: Subject + was not / were not + verb+ing.
• Interrogative: Was / Were + subject + verb+ing + object?
